Environmental Fiscal Reform
The EEB’s Fiscal Reform Working Group promotes the use of fiscal instruments to support achieving environmental goals. Given the EU’s limited competence in this matter, the group functions primarily as an information exchange forum. The Working Group cooperates closely with Green Budget Europe (GBE) and aims to organize its meetings back to back with GBE’s Annual Conference.
Topics of interest to the group include (inter alia):
- Market Based Instruments
- Emission Trading
- Economic Governance
- Energy Taxation
The Working Group meets once per year and is coordinated by the EEB’s Policy Director, Pieter de Pous.
