- Pieter DE POUS
EU Policy DirectorPieter oversees and coordinates the EEB’s EU policy team. He has a masters degree in forest and conservation science from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands. Before becoming EEB’s EU Policy Director he worked in the EEB’s EU policy team as a policy officer on biodiversity, water and agriculture. He has Dutch nationality and speaks Dutch, German and English.

- Stéphane ARDITI
Policy Manager: Products & WasteStephane is responsible for Product and Waste policy. Before joining the EEB, Stephane worked as a Quality/Lean consultant for the industry in France and UK. He also collaborated to academic research programs on energy efficiency in building and evaluation of sustainable development policy. Stephane has educational background in philosophy and environmental management. Stephane is French and speaks English and French.

- Piotr BARCZAK
Policy Officer: WastePiotr holds a Masters degree in Geography specialised in Spatial Management and Regional Development. Before joining the EEB, he worked as a surveyor, then for the Polish Ministry of the Environment/Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Presidency), as an intern at Food&Water Europe, and most recently he worked in the field of development aid in Africa (climate smart agriculture). He is Polish and speaks Polish, English, French and German.

- Faustine DEFOSSEZ
Senior Policy Officer: Agriculture and BioenergyFaustine holds a masters degree in European Union law from the University of Lille, France and a masters degree of EU Politics from the Institute for Political Sciences in Strasbourg, France. Before joining the EEB she worked for the European Commission, in the Directorate General Agriculture and Rural Development. She is a French native speaker, speaks English and some German.

- Louise DUPREZ
Senior Policy Officer: Air and NoiseLouise joined the EEB in 2009 and is now in charge of air quality and noise policies. Her academic background is in political sciences, having studied in Strasbourg and Berlin, and holds a Master in Environmental Law. She previously had roles in the European Commission’s DG Environment, in a Brussels-based consultancy and in the Franco German TV network ARTE. - Sini ERÄJÄÄ
Policy Officer: EU BioenergySini covers bioenergy issues, in particular the sustainable use of biomass in the energy sector – a position shared between the EEB and BirdLife Europe. She holds a degree in ecology and environmental management and has researched the ecological impacts of wood fuel harvesting. She previously worked for an EEB member organisation in Finland on forest conservation and management issues and for other Finnish NGOs on climate and communications projects, for the Taiga Rescue Network and for the Ministry of Environment in Finland. - Balázs HORVATH
Senior Policy Officer: Water and Soil
Balázs previously worked in the European Commission's DG Environment for seven years and was involved in making and implementing policies related to water pollution, emissions to water, the reporting of water-related data and integrated water assessments, as well as on water management in the Danube Basin and adaptation to climate change.Before joining the Commission he worked for six years for the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Water and for four years for the country's regional environmental protection and water management authorities.

- Roland JOEBSTL
Policy Officer: Energy and ClimateRoland has a Masters in social and human ecology form the University of Klagenfurt, worked for the last 7 years on climate and energy policies as an analyst in the Austrian Federal Environmental Agency and as a policy officer and project manager for advocacy and member liaison in one of EEB’s Austrian Members, Umweltdachverband. - Aliki KRIEKOUKI
Technical Officer: Industrial ProductionAliki is working on pollution prevention and control of industrial activities, in particular the review of the environmental performance benchmarks (Best Available Techniques Reference Documents) for industry. Before joining the EEB, she worked for a Brussels-based European Federation in the area of waste management and environmental services, as an environmental auditor in Greece and at the European Commission's Executive Agency for SMEs. - Elena LYMBERIDI-SETTIMO
Project Coordinator: Zero Mercury CampaignElena co-founded the Zero Mercury Working Group - an international coalition of NGOs working on mercury in 2005, and has co-coordinated it ever since. She previously worked for the European Commission (DG ENV) and for consulting firms on environment policy and project management. She holds an Ptychio in Chemistry (Athens), an M.Sc. in Business Strategy and Environmental Management (UK) and an MBA (Belgium). She is Greek and speaks Greek, English and French.

- Leonardo MAZZA
Senior Policy Officer: Biodiversity, Water & Soil Protection
Leonardo is responsible for biodiversity, water and soil protection issues within the EEB. He is an environmental economist by training, with a Masters in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the LSE and a double Masters degree in Sustainable Development and International Affairs. Prior to joining EEB he worked for 6 years as an environmental policy consultant, most recently at the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), where he was Senior Policy Analyst within the Environmental Economics Programme. - Blanca MORALES
EU Ecolabel CoordinatorBlanca studied Environmental Sciences for her undergraduate degree and holds a Research Masters on Environmental Education and a Diploma on Environmental Management Systems. She has recently worked as Pollution Control Officer for ECOS and was previously the EU Ecolabel Coordinator in EEB and the European Consumers’ Organisation (BEUC) from 2007 till 2010. Before that she was a trainee at the EU Commission in the field of EMAS, worked in the Local Agenda 21 of Granada and was involved in cooperation projects in Mexico and Ukraine.

- Tatiana SANTOS
Senior Policy Officer: Chemicals & NanotechnologyTatiana graduated in Chemistry specialized in Environmental and food chemistry from the University of Cádiz (Spain), she also holds a master degree in both Environmental Impact Assessment and occupational health and safety. Previously she worked for the Spanish occupational institute ISTAS and the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI). She is Spanish and speaks Spanish, English and basic French.

- Christian SCHAIBLE
Policy Manager - Industrial ProductionChristian joined the EEB in May 2008, then spent one year at the French member FNE in Paris before returning in October 2013. He is in charge of activities on industrial production, in particular the review of the environmental performance benchmarks (Best Available Techniques Reference Documents) for industry. He studied international law with a Masters specialisation in environmental law in Egypt, Norway and France. He previously worked for the German Federal Environmental Protection Agency, the European Commission's Renewable Energy DG and in a Brussels-based industry group working on the promotion of renewable energy sources. - Carsten WACHHOLZ
Policy Officer: Resource Use and Product Policy
Carsten is responsible for resource use and product policy at the EEB. He advocates for the EU to match its rhetoric on resource efficiency with ambitious proposals in the areas of eco-design, labelling and the related fields of product policy. Before coming to Brussels, Carsten was deputy head of the department for environmental protection at the headquarters of German NGO NABU, where he worked on climate change, energy policy and sustainable development. He also gained expertise as a consultant in facilitating stakeholder communications, public participation and conflict resolution. Carsten is German and speaks English and German as well as some Swedish and French.
