The EEB is a founding member of the Spring Alliance.

The Alliance's Manifesto calls for the EU to simultaneously pursue economic, environmental and social goals rather than the old priority for economic growth above all others. 2009 was a key year with the appointment of a new 5 year European Commission and hence the chance to create a sustainable, green agenda for Europe.

The Manifesto's success will be measured by how many of its proposals are taken on board by the European Coucil in its Spring Summit (March 2010).
