Linking Air Quality and Climate Change
Air pollution reduction measures are known to have synergistic effects on reducing greenhouse gases. Fighting air pollution is thus part of EU efforts to halt climate change.
According to recent research, addressing both issues simultaneously would lead to significant efficiency gains in the EU.
The EEB therefore supports an integrated approach to air and climate policies - in particular during the upcoming revision of the NEC Directive.
