| The EEB is active in a number of coalitions. The Green 8 (G8) is an informal coalition of the eight principal European environmental groups based in Brussels lobbying and advising the European institutions. The other G8 members are Birdlife International, Climate Action Network Europe, Friends of the Earth Europe, Friends of Nature International, Greenpeace International, the European Federation for Transport and Environment and the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
The EEB also co-operates with the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the Platform of European Social Organisations (Social Platform) and human rights and development organisations. With the first two we have formed a coalition around the theme of sustainable development: with the last three we work together on the European Constitution and in general on governance issues.
We also have ad hoc co-operation with organisations such as the European Bureau for Consumer Organisations (BEUC), the European Public Health Alliance as well as individual industries on particular issues.
